Everyone is doing it.

Fred Omolloh

A good deal of the 21st century campus girls gives no hoot about peddling flesh for a ride in a V8, an off-campus fully furnished apartment and drinks in a club complimented by gift hampers from an older man.

While it’s not bad to be sexually active beyond the age of 18,  it’s morally wrong, even suicidal to have sex with multiple person and worse of when it’s without a condom.

Worldwide, 7.3 million of births are by girls between the ages of 15 to 19. And since the campus girl and boy are aware of abortion, getting rid of it isn’t difficult. We just flash it out of our system. Get better, healthy, and move on to the next relationship.

Psychology says that the trauma of abortion seats upon the conscience of a lady all her life. It never leaves. Even in marriage. While the man who fathered the aborted foetus roams free unencumbered, the lady, just when an iota of happiness sips into her brain, remembers that did she did.

Sex, is psychologically a stress reliever. However, when carelessly indulged in, it is a stress giver. Are you mentally healthy? Let not a sponsor mess you up psychologically.

It is a fact that every year thousands of students seek internships and industrial placements as part of requirement for their different fields of study.

Weekend mood

Phyllis Wanjiru

Ever heard of people saying “my week begins on Friday and ends on Monday”? This sentence is very popular among young people especially campus students.Their week is scheduled with many lectures ,tiring projects and assignments to hand in . It is even worse when cats are involved ;the hustle for notes of missed classes, concepts not grasped , misplaced handouts,in short, it just gets crazy.

Weekends, therefore, become days that are longed for and they can not wait to celebrate after the last lecture. It is a remedy for all the ups and downs of the week and ushers in a chilled mood.Things get juicy when a gig has been advertised  on the school’s notice board or simply a random Whats App text.

Gigs are what make our weekend memorable. They offer a platform to relieve stress from school work or to just meet up and have a good time with friends. The best news is that there are numerous of these events that one is actually spoilt for choice. Generally, the cost is friendly but with HELB money it is an icing on the cake. What better way to pamper yourself?

YOLO!!Let us activate the weekend mood.

Vitality in Sports

Sagini Jason

How important is sports? In many campuses today, you realize that sporting activities are not given that special treatment like education. Why should you see the vitality of education but when asked about sports huh! Probably you will bite your tongue in confusion and say

 ‘games ni za kujibamba tu’

A lady who normally goes to java, takes fried chips and smokies as lunch, exactly at four, she gets back there and does some burgers. A health specialist stated consuming these kind of foods will lead to a quick processed death certificate. He even listed traditional vegetables, fruits and a lot of water is the best cure for health. But he forgot to add on a secondary cure to health called sports. Sporting activities help keep your body fit. That is even how former His Excellency Daniel Arap Moi is still managing to go through each year. Let’s join sports in our campuses.

Rotten potato in the sack

Amunga Lavenda

Many kenyan universities participate in strikes as a result of their leaders mobilizing them to do so. This is bizzare as leaders are expected to be preventing rather than encouraging such.
The Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology is an example of a university that had to suspend its student leader as a result of such a case.

Winnie Nyandiga was elected as student president at MMUST earlier this year and all expected some form of change, especially considering she was female.

Winnie has been ruling just fine, until recently when she had to be sent packing. Reliable sources claim that she was misleading the students through sabotage. The administration had no choice but to suspend the president for her deeds.

What irks all is the fact that a school president was suspended! It beats logic that instead of being a role model to all, she had to be the one to psyche people on starting a strike and vandalizing property.

What leaders have we these days! Like I always believe, leaders should help us pass our grievances in a more civilized manner!
